A wonderful set of four clear Whitehall cubist glasses from the 1960s by Indiana Glass. These vintage iced tea coolers feature a distinctive cube design that brings authentic mid-century charm to your home.
HISTORY
The Indiana Glass Company began in 1907 in Dunkirk, Indiana. They were the original manufacturer of root beer mugs for the A&W drive-in chain. They were also a major producer of depression glass and carnival glass. The company became a subsidiary of the Lancaster Colony Corporation in 1961. The Whitehall (Cube/Cubist) pattern was introduced in the early 1960s. Lancaster purchased the Fostoria Glass Company in 1983 and, using some of their molds, created the American Whitehall collection.
DETAILS
- Each glass is approximately 6" high and 3.5" across at the mouth.
- Each glass has 2 seams which should mean they are Indiana Glass. However, one of the glasses has a more narrow post. The band of that glass might be straight and not flared. It is hard to tell.
- Each glass is in wonderful condition.
I do recommend hand washing. Enjoy!
