With its handmade frame and first release of Sorry! by Parker Brothers game board, you'll be sorry you didn't snag this one-of-a-kind piece sooner. Sorry, not sorry!
This Display and Play Sorry! board game will bring a touch of nostalgia to any game night. Perfect as a gift or to hang in your game room!
Game History:
Invented by William Henry Storey from Southend-on-Sea, England and trademarked in 1929. The US patent was issued to Parker Brothers in 1934 and is based off of India's game of Pachisi (aka "Parcheesi").
Game Details:
- Finished size = approximately 20" x 20"
- Board is in really good condition considering it's 90 years old. The colors are still bright with the yellow a bit faded. The face of the board has some age-appropriate discoloration and the seam shows wear. There are few marks, notated with pictures.
- All pieces are present including the wonderful colored wood playing pieces. They do show wear. The cards are complete and while they do show wear, they are in great condition. This set contains the 5 - 1s, which shows up in the 1939 version of Sorry. The instructions indicate there should be 4 - 1s. Parker Bros didn't like to waste inventory, so it's possible these newer cards were placed in the older box.
-
The box is the small box version by Parker Brothers and is in very good condition. The lid has normal wear around the edges and the bottom box has some staining and one edge that is a bit loose.
Games contain small pieces and are not intended for children under the age of 4.
