Game History:
This game was based on the very popular 1913 book "Pollyanna" by Eleanor H. Porter. It was later made into a movie in 1960 with Hayley Mills. The initial game was copyrighted in 1915 by Parker Brothers. They sold it until 1967.
Game Details:
🎲 Finished size = approximately 21" x 21" 🎲 This GORGEOUS, over 100 year old game, is in excellent condition with vibrant, beautiful colors! This is the third release of the Pollyanna game. There were five releases between 1915 and the 1930s (all copyrighted 1915/1916), prior to the board graphics being changed for the 1940 version. 🎲 The facing of the board reflects expected markings on the tracks from the brass-edged playing pieces. The most significant mark is shown in a close up of the tracks which also helps to provide a visual for the overall track marks from the tokens. 🎲 The utensil box is a dark green (matching the board), is sturdy and in great condition. There is some wear to two corners of the bottom of the box, light staining and pencil markings. 🎲 The wooden shakers are in great condition and all brass tokens are present (I added one green token). The green color of the tokens has faded. There are 4 out of 8 of the very tiny (bone?) dice. The instructions are present and in great condition.
