HISTORY

The Pyrex Primary Color Refrigerator Set was the first to be produced with color in 1947. Color opal ware was the result of a collaboration between Corning Glass Works and the US Government to create a sturdy, unbreakable dish for WWII soldiers.  

DETAILS

• Gorgeous deep red-orange color with slight fading around the rim and scratches aligning with its 70 years of age.
• The 501C lid is the original style (prior to 1960) and has a few flea bites on the inside of the lid. There are 2 chips on the top ridge.
• Based on the backstamp, this dish was a part of the sets sold between 1949 - 1959.
• The dish measures 4.25" x  3.25" x 2.5".

I recommend hand washing to preserve the color. Enjoy!
