1950s Flinch Card Game
1950s Flinch Card Game
Flinch is a timeless game from Parker Brothers that's guaranteed to bring the family together for hours of quality entertainment. Perfect for all ages, it's an easy way to have fun and create cherished memories.
Game History:
How Parker Brothers acquired Flinch is a bit confusing. I have read that Parker Brothers purchased the Flinch Card Company outright in 1905. I have also read that the rights were sold to Parker Brothers in 1936.
Even more interesting is information I found that says Arthur J Patterson, of Kalamazoo, was not the person responsible for inventing "The Acme of Parlor Games" in 1901. The actual inventor was Eugene H Munger of New York in 1893. There was a court case in 1905 over the name of Flinch. It was dismissed in favor of Patterson.
Game Details:
This late 1950s (possibly very early 1960s) version of Flinch is complete and in fantastic condition. It contains all 150 cards (which seem hardly used), original instructions and a supplemental booklet for other games to play with the Flinch cards. It is missing the clear plastic cover.
