This vintage Pyrex Open Stock Mixing Bowl would make a great gift for that special Pyrex collector in your life.
HISTORY
The 1945 Primary Colors Bowl Set was the first of the opal ware with an overlay of color produced by Pyrex. It was the result of a collaboration between Corning Glass Works and the US Government to create a sturdy, unbreakable dish for WWII soldiers. The foot of the bowl from 1945 to 1949 was deeper than the redesigned version in 1950 that has the flatter footing.
DETAILS
- The date range for this bowl would be around 1949 and the early 1950s due to the backstamp. The model number was added, but not the bowl size. This was considered an open stock item and not part of a set.
- The bowl's capacity is 4 quarts.
- It measures approximately 10.5" wide by 4.5" tall
- There are a variety of scrapes in the color that align with it's age. The color is vibrant.
Don't be afraid to use this beauty. Just don't put it in the dishwasher. Enjoy!
