This 1936 Monopoly game with the Darrow copyright and original color pallet for the title cards and the playing surface is very special! Boardwalk is purple instead of the blue we know it as today! Perfect for the Monopoly lover or collector!

Game History:

Parker Brothers signed a contract with Charles B Darrow on March 19, 1935 and began selling Monopoly shortly thereafter. They quickly learned that the first patent actually belonged to Elizabeth Magie who's patent (after purchasing it from her) of 1,509,312 was the first to appear on the game after "Trade Mark" and then "Patent Pending". 

Game Details:

• Until 1958, Parker Brothers sold Monopoly with a small utensil box, alongside the board, as a set, as well as the standard long-box version.
• Darrow Copyright is on the Jail square.
• Original color pallet! Baltic and Mediterranean are an eggplant color instead of the common dark purple and Boardwalk and Park Place are purple instead of the common dark blue. The Property cards match the board!
• Board is in great condition and would be considered perfect if it weren't for the unfortunate dots of missing surface. It is sturdy and shows very little wear.
• Salmon color $100 bills!
• The box is sturdy and in wonderful condition. The riser and 2 dividers are missing.
• Instructions (notice the Darrow bills in the graphic!), Short Games and ad insert included.
• This version has 2 bone dice and 7 metal tokens. The purse is missing its handle. All Chance and Community Chest cards are present, showing very little wear, and are the text version. The Property cards show normal wear, but for 90 years old they are in fantastic condition.
