Experience a piece of history with this 1935 Magie single patent Monopoly game. Featuring rare property cards, it's a must-have for any game collector.

While waiting for Darrow's patent to be approved, this 3rd version of Monopoly was produced by Parker Brothers from November 1935 until January 1936, after realizing that Elizabeth Magie owned the first patent for her game "The Landlord's Game" which was a precursor to Monopoly.

*PLEASE NOTE: If choosing Game plus Frame, please allow 3 weeks build time.

Game History:

Parker Brothers signed a contract with Charles B Darrow on March 19, 1935 and began selling Monopoly shortly thereafter. They quickly learned that the first patent actually belonged to Elizabeth Magie who's patent (after purchasing it from her) of 1,509,312 was the first to appear on the game after "Trade Mark" and then "Patent Pending".

Game Details:

🎲 Until 1958, Parker Brothers sold Monopoly with a small utensil box, alongside the board, as a set, as well as the standard long-box version.
🎲 There were a few variations of this Single Patent set that Parker Brothers sold. This board is the 1st of 2 boards: both the legals on this board and the label are printed with Magie's patent. The board is in fantastic condition. The previous owner signed their name (neatly!) over the 1933 Darrow copyright.
🎲 The utensil box is sturdy and in remarkable condition. There were a few variations of the box as well. This is the 2nd version indicated by a new divider configuration and the rare, large, white letters on the Baltic, Park Place and Boardwalk property cards. All original dividers are present except the riser for the tokens. The original price sticker is intact!
🎲 The instructions were missing so I've added a newer (1941) version. This game version had 7 metal playing pieces and they are all present. However, the cannon's 'legs' are not attached. All Chance and Community Chest cards are present as well as all of the property cards. All cards are in remarkable shape considering their age.

Games contain small pieces and are not intended for children under the age of 4.
