Discover a timeless treasure with this 1935 Monopoly Game - Magie Single Patent by Parker Brothers. An essential addition to any game collection!

While waiting for Darrow's patent to be approved, this 3rd version of Monopoly was produced by Parker Brothers from November 1935 until January 1936, after realizing that Elizabeth Magie owned the first patent for her game "The Landlord's Game" which was a precursor to Monopoly.

*PLEASE NOTE: If choosing Game plus Frame, please allow 3 weeks build time.

Game History:

Parker Brothers signed a contract with Charles B Darrow on March 19, 1935 and began selling Monopoly shortly thereafter. They quickly learned that the first patent actually belonged to Elizabeth Magie who's patent (after purchasing it from her) of 1,509,312 was the first to appear on the game after "Trade Mark" and then "Patent Pending".

Game Details:

🎲 Until 1958, Parker Brothers sold Monopoly with a small utensil box, alongside the board, as a set, as well as the standard long-box version.
🎲 There were a few variations of this Single Patent set that Parker Brothers sold. This board is the 1st of 2 boards: both the legals on this board and the label are printed with Magie's patent. The board is in good sturdy condition, considering it's age. There are worn spots on two corners. The board label shows wear and has spots.
🎲 The utensil box is sturdy and in good condition. It shows normal wear for it's age and has discoloration. There were a few variations of the box as well. This is the 3rd version indicated by the change in the property cards from the rare, large lettering on Baltic, Park Place and Boardwalk to the smaller lettering. All dividers are missing except the riser for the cards. The original price sticker from Mandel Brother's Chicago is intact!
🎲 This game version had 7 metal playing pieces, but the iron is missing. The original  instructions are worn and have been taped. All Chance and Community Chest cards are present as well as all of the property cards. All cards have been loved and are well worn.

Games contain small pieces and are not intended for children under the age of 4.
