Game History:
George S. Parker (of Parker Brothers) and his wife Grace created this game in 1906 as an alternative to the standard deck of cards that some religions had objections to because of the face cards. By 1913, Rook was the best selling game in the US and continued to be Parker Brothers top selling game until Monopoly was introduced.
Game Details:
🎲 Size = approximately 5.5" x 4"
🎲 All 56 cards are present, in great condition, but they do show wear commensurate with their age: bent corners, slight tears, and missing corners on 2 cards. The Rook info card is also included.
🎲 The instruction booklet contains over 10 games and is intact.
🎲 The box is in wonderful condition. The lid is intact which is amazing for it's age. The bottom box is sturdy, but does have a tear that was repaired by someone. The (seemingly) original price sticker is partially visible.
