Step back in time with this antique Loto game dating back to the 1890s-1910s.  A valuable find for any collector!

Loto (or Lotto) is very similar to Bingo (or Beano). These instructions indicate that the winner is the first person to complete a row on their card. Other versions of Lotto indicate that the entire card needs to be covered to win the game.

Game Details:

The box is sturdy, but visually in rough shape. The top portion of the lid has started to separate from the lid frame. There is some staining all over the box and wear that would be expected for a game of this age (over 100 years old!). I do not know how many cards should have been included, but there are 18 cards numbered B1-B6, C1-C6 and D1-D6. There are 90 markers. A few of these markers have been "re-numbered" (as shown).

This No. 91 Loto (aka Lotto) game was produced by Leventhal & Son on behalf of S. L. Hill & Son. There is no date associated with this game, but after doing some research and how this company numbered their games, as well as the design (very similar to McLoughlin Bros), my best guess is that it was made between 1890 and 1910.

In the 1850s, S.L. Hill and Son was the first American manufacturer to produce alphabet blocks in mass quantity. I was not able to find much on this company beyond their toy blocks production.
